One Month in Guizhou?

I'm planning on spending a month in China this summer in August.   I've been told the heat and humidity in August in China is intense and makes traveling unpleasant.  I know Yunnan in the summer is great because I was there last year.  I've been told that Guizhou also has much milder temperatures in the summer.   My question is:  Is an entire month traveling in Guizhou too much time?   I'm traveling with my family to China this time and they are just not as interested in China as I am.   Is a month too many days and will they get bored?   Also suggestions for any other interesting places to travel to  in China in August that are not uncomfortably hot and humid?  I originally wanted to go to Chongqing,  Chengdu and even Guilin and Yangshuo,  but I was told Chengdu would be uncomfortably hot and Chongqing is one of China's "furnace cities".    Any suggestions?  Does the province of Guizhou have enough interesting things to fill an entire month?

I've not been to Guizhou before so can't speak on that, but Chongqing will be quite intense to travel for sure, the humidity is dizzying during the late summer months. Guilin and Yangshuo is a much better call. We were in Hangzhou for two weeks two summers ago in August and while it was very hot, we had a great time there too. Go to places with water and you'll always have somewhere to 'cool off'. Shanghai, Hangzhou, then on to Anhui, Huangshan, perhaps?

I'm not sure what I would do in Guizhou for a month during rainy season if I were traveling with family members who were not very interested in learning about China. Perhaps the best strategy would be to focus on their interests and then spend time in those parts of China that are likely to amuse them, regardless of the weather.

Frankly, I think of Guizhou as kind of a "deep dive" for people who have already visited the "Big Three" or the "Big Five." Not for people with only a casual, passing interest in China. There are few things worse than being stuck in some tiny town with the wife and kids, and having to hear, "Oh, great, Dad. Another waterfall, another placid lake, another scenic hill! Remind me never to sign up for one of your boring trips again."

FWIW, I recall hearing good things about rock climbing near Yangshuo (in Guangxi) from people visiting in the summer. Bicycles for hire, scenic country roads, etc.
