Tomsima Posted April 10, 2025 at 12:33 PM Report Posted April 10, 2025 at 12:33 PM I was just on the blogs section of CF and noticed the ridiculous number of page views for some of our study blogs here - my interpreting one is suddenly at 500k+ views, some others are over a million views. Presumably this is from ai bots crawling the pages - is there any way we can stop this? I personally prefer the forums feeling like a more tight knit place for learners to share, and the page views used to be a good indication of trends and interests just like reactions to posts. 1 1 Quote
mikelove Posted April 10, 2025 at 01:16 PM Report Posted April 10, 2025 at 01:16 PM I think (hope?) most of those page views are old - we started blocking bots after that outage a few months ago, because they were eating up inordinate amounts of system resources and making outages like that more likely. Checking our statistics now, the traffic has been pretty steady since then, so it seems like those efforts are still succeeding. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a way to remove those erroneous extra views from existing posts, because we don't keep log data with enough detail to figure out which views can be attributed to which bot. 4 Quote
