New Online Course: Intro to Classical Chinese

Hi all, just a heads up that cohort 2 of the Intro course is starting next week. Also, the first cohort requested a sequel, so we're doing an Intermediate course that picks up where the Intro leaves off, and goes through Lesson 28.

just a heads up, I'm an awful student and sorta got busy and stopped @ around week 4ish. But I'm definitely planning to pick it back up some time soon (ish)! Can't believe you guys are doing an Intermediate Class already.... gosh I feel like I'm missing out

It'll still be there when you're ready for it. :)

Since this sub-forum is slow, and people were asking, I thought I'd just pop in, necro the thread, and let people know that in my opinion, the course is well worth the money. Fuller is a really tough textbook for self-study, and leaves a lot to the reader with sometimes pretty minimal handholding quite early on. Studying the textbook with someone there to explain it though makes it a great choice. And the people in the community have been good at putting together group projects and interesting discussions that bounce off the material and take it further. So for me, I've gotten a lot from the course, both when I was going through it live, and then later when I fell off and went through the course after everybody else had already finished. If you can get in on a live cohort it's even better value, but it stands on its own even if you're just watching the lectures and trawling the community after the fact. I'd say it stands up to at least any University undergrad class for way cheaper, and probably a lot of early graduate stuff.

Thanks for the review, glad you liked it!

It comes at a good time actually—we're doing another live cohort, starting in just a few weeks (16 September).

Glad to hear about the new live cohort—I’ve had the course in my dashboard for a while now, so this is good motivation to get to it!
